Tokyo: Film

You can imagine the (first world problems appropriate) struggle of deciding whether to capture something digitally, on film or on video, especially when you’re no expert at any of them. This is especially prevalent when you have all three options available to you and you’re walking through the streets of Tokyo where everything is enviably photogenic. But there’s something about film that has a very distinct ‘mating call’ when it comes to its moments of capture. I don’t know how else to explain it but i hope you can see a different side of Tokyo through the following photos…if not then never mind and i hope you enjoy them anyway.
Shibuya Crossing from Starbucks where I got kicked out because I didn’t want to buy a drink.
Ginza alleyways
Dressing like I hijacked the clothes of an office worker

Crows in Ginza whilst we were waiting for sushi

Lollipops meant ‘only for kids’

‘Play us a song’

Making tea and the pineapple that smelled really nice

The last of sakura

The coldest morning, sakura carcasses in the rain

So many beautiful photos, I love the slightly grainy, washed-out look of photos taken with film cameras. The picture with the sakura is perhaps my favourite (although the one with the “homme” sign and your dad is very clever haha!)…Wong Fu Productions did a short called Komorebi set in Japan and the first scene reminds me of those alleys and the Shibuya vending machines. I hope I can visit the little corners of Tokyo someday!

I prefer the texture of films over digitals. But they are so pricey :'(

Hi, Zoe! I've been following you for nearly a year on Instagram, but I only check your blog these pas few months. I could say you're one of my favorite blogger, not only because of your style and awesome photographs here. I adore your personality, well I don't know much about you yet, but the more I read your blog the more I fall in love with you. Hahaha don't be scared! What I meant, from many many many fashion/style bloggers out there, you have such different character/personality. You're not only sharing glam and glitz. I can feel the “soul” in every photo here. So yeah, you're officially registered in my girl crush radar and I hope I can meet you someday! :)
